From 23rd-26th November 2009 the participants from Region 1 in the PWYP Norway Global Capacity Building Programme gathered in Kampala, Uganda for a three day advocacy and lobbying training facilitated by Intrac.
This workshop constituted the last module in the series of three that comprises the programme, and concludes the first round.
During three days of participatory training, the group of civil society representatives was exposed to a range of advocacy tools and techniques, and took part in sharing sessions that drew upon their own specific experiences with advocacy related to the extractive industries. The workshop content was adjusted to the participants’ previously reported training needs.
The local host organisation for the event in Kampala was “Uganda Joint Christian Council”: (UJCC). The previous two modules in this first round of the PWYP Norway Capacity Building Programme were held in Stavanger, Norway in December 2008 and in Accra, Ghana in September 2009.
